Eight years after a viral catastrophe wipes out the planet, in a world now overrun by creatures that lurk in the night, a lone survivor, CJ, accompanied by his lionhead bunny, lives day by day, trying to get by in their new world.
Battling mental illness and suffering from extreme isolation, CJ searches the remains of El Paso, searching for an escape until he finds one sitting in an empty bookstore. Gathering his courage, he plans to pay homage to mankind's accomplishments by embarking on a journey to honor its knowledge and pay his respects as the last human alive.
