I moved to New York City when I was 23 years old. I had dreams of being on Broadway. When I got to NYC, I realized I had no idea what I was doing so I started a princess party company to earn extra money while I was auditioning and working as a nanny. After several years and a few additions to my team, I had a multitude of funny stories and anecdotes from parties my girls and I had done, and that was the inspiration for "Party Girl - A Modern Fairy Tale" The book is a fictional story inspired by some true events. I wanted to give readers a picture of what it actually means to live in New York City in your early twenties and struggle. My vision of NYC before I got there was what I'd seen on numerous episodes of Sex and the City, but living there is incredibly different. I wanted to paint a picture that would feel real and capture the essence of living in the most competitive and difficult city in the world during the recession.
