This novel is a cross of speculative and political fiction, and was written by a political journalist based in London, based on his experiences of watching British politics and the people who work within it. It is also set partly in Washington DC where the first female President of the United States has recently been elected, and some if it is set in the west coast of Portugal. It is not religious fiction - but it's fair to say that everyone experiences a terrorist attack in the second chapter. Written in first person, the narrator is Ellie Weeks, the wife of the British prime minister. Her marriage hasn't been a happy one, blighted by the impact of politics and a series of secrets. Ellie recounts her role in a conspiracy which stretches across the Atlantic, one which threatens to cause upheaval around the world.
