For one, life takes an unexpected change after his kidnapping introduces him to a band of extraordinary pirates with a solemn duty. For the other, tired of being castoff and despised, new passions bring an unsatisfied desire for revenge and power. Unknown to either man---things in the Fallen Lands are not as they appear---including the simple farm boy and the cruelly cunning giant.
