mysteriously disappeared during a hurricane. Orphaned, Eliza was sent
from her home in Moco, Georgia to live with an aunt in Port Rune,
Massachusetts. The story takes place when Eliza is sixteen and her
strange and tragic past comes back to wreak havoc on her new safe
life. This story is rich with Southern nuances and Greek and Egyptian
folklore. Some readers have described it as holding a spot between
Harry Potter and The Hunger Games.
